National Schools Regatta is the only junior rowing event in the UK to host a ‘University Zone’ where students from colleges and universities meet and engage with young people and showcase the pathway to higher education with prospective student athletes from all backgrounds.
Located on the South side of the lake adjacent to the Regatta Village, make sure you pop by to say hello and learn how combining academics and sport works at university.
Welsh Rowing
Welsh Rowing is the national governing body for rowing in Wales, supporting all forms of the sport—river, coastal, indoor, and para rowing.
Our mission is simple: get more people rowing and help Welsh athletes reach new heights on the international stage. We work closely with clubs to grow participation, run inclusive initiatives to welcome beginners, and showcase the physical and mental benefits of rowing.
For those looking to take the sport further, we identify and develop talent to represent Wales and Great Britain at the highest levels—up to and including the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Bath University Boat Club
The University of Bath has a vibrant student rowing club which fields competitive crews for British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) events and at Henley Royal Regatta.
Talented rowers looking to combine performance rowing with a prospective degree at the University of Bath may be interested in the Dual Career programme offered by the University.
Durham University Boat Club
DUBC consistently delivers competitive performances at university, national and international events. This is through training sessions provided by world-class coaches, envisioning a long-term game plan, and employing a driven attitude. The club also provides an encouraging yet enthusiastic environment in which athletes can grow as not only an individual, but as a crew, thus enriching their university experience. DUBC cultivates student athletes whose sporting and academic successes go hand in hand.
Newcastle University Boat Club
Newcastle prides itself on creating an environment that caters for all abilities. Whether it be world champions or novices. There is no individual greater than the club and as such it is argued that you will not find a more closely knit squad of athletes anywhere in the country.
This spirit is most on display at BUCS Regatta where Newcastle are consistently one of the top performing universities coming away with consistent Championship, Intermediate and Novice medals in a wide array of events
University of Exeter Boat Club (UOEBC)
UOEBC is one of the largest and most dynamic sports clubs at Exeter, reflecting the growing popularity of rowing across campus. We welcome all abilities - from complete novices to athletes training at GB level - with structured coaching and tailored training programmes.
Based on a 4.5km stretch of the Exeter Shipping Canal, our state-of-the-art Nicholas Bull Boathouse, opened in 2012, provides the perfect setting for high-performance rowing. Named after former club captain Nicholas Bull (Chemistry, 1972), it stands as a testament to our proud heritage and ambition.
As part of a Russell Group university renowned for academic excellence and student satisfaction, UOEBC embodies Exeter’s commitment to both academic and sporting success.

University of Bristol Boat Club
Founded in 1909, UBBC is one of the largest and most decorated clubs within the university, with over 150 members and a rich history of success in both domestic and international competitions.
We are one of the top ten rowing clubs in the country and we have ambitions to break into the top five universities for rowing within the next few years.
Regardless of whether you are an experienced rower with international ambitions, or you have never set foot in a boat before, we are the club for you.
Reading University Boat Club
Reading University Boat Club is one of the highest achieving clubs at the University. We cater for all levels of experience, from novices to former junior internationals and U23 trialists, with both strong lightweight and heavyweight squads. We have strong hopes for the coming season and hope you will join us in our successes.
University of Nottingham Boat Club
UoNBC was founded in 1892, and is a highly popular society within the University, well known for its tough training regime and lively socials.
The club is renowned for its gold blades and provides comprehensive access to the rowing world, from those who have never rowed before to those aiming for the next Olympics.
Jesus College Boat Club, Cambridge
Founded in 1827, Jesus College Boat Club is the largest and one of the most vibrant societies in college - almost everyone gives rowing a try during their time here.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced rower, everyone is welcome at JCBC. Most join through our friendly and fun novice programme in their first term, while seasoned rowers can jump straight into senior crews. Many of our rowers even go on to trial for the University, supported by the best financial aid of any Cambridge college.
With top-class facilities just five minutes from college and one of the biggest fleets on the Cam, we’re set up for success—and it shows. JCBC holds the record for the most headships in both the May and Lent Bumps, and regularly competes at events like Henley Royal Regatta.
Off the water, our legendary social calendar includes bar nights, crew pastas, and formal dinners. So whether you're here to race or just to have fun, JCBC is the place to be.
Imperial College Boat Club
On the Putney embankment, just a 20-minute cycle from campus, we cater for all students who are interested in rowing, with training programs to suit everyone from novice rowers to aspiring Olympic athletes. A strong community spirit is at the heart of the club, with ample opportunity to get to know each other with a range of social events, residential trips to races and training camps in Europe.
