SHARKs are back!

Updated: May 12, 2022

Hudson Boat Works, the athlete-focused and technology-driven rowing boat manufacturer, has renewed its partnership with National Schools’ Regatta. This builds on a strong relationship developed since 2016 when Hudson first became NSR Partner. Hudson recognise the importance of the competitive experience for junior rowers, their support will enable the regatta to deliver the best possible service to Coaches and rowers at the regatta. Once again, Hudson will have a dedicated space on the regatta course where Coaches, competitors and parents will be able to meet the team behind Shark Technology.

The Reading-based service centre combines Hudson's engineering and technology with leading customer support to provide the best experience for athletes and coaches alike. Every SHARK is built to the highest standard and is suitable for the highest performing athlete or rowers just starting their journey. Established in 1981, Hudson has taken inspiration from nature. In the wild, a SHARK is a marvel of design and is one of nature's most successful, most enduring designs. Over thousands of years, it has evolved, refined, and adapted to its environment to become the world's most fearsome predator. Providing a top-quality product, backed with the best customer care, Hudson aims to inspire athletes to chase their personal best.

The extension to the relationship with National Schools’ Regatta will continue to build the brand association with junior rowing and a connection with SHARK fans around the world. National Schools' Regatta is the largest regatta for juniors in Great Britain. Held annually in May, the regatta offers events for Junior rowers between J14 and J18. The regatta was first raced in 1947, and has since grown to what is a world-class event enjoyed by clubs and schools across the United Kingdom and Ireland. The 2022 regatta will welcome over 800 crews with over 4000 junior rowers competing over the 3 days.

National School’s Regatta Chairman George Hammond said, "We are delighted to welcome Hudson back to the regatta. We recognise Hudson’s focus on the athlete and technology, something that we also focus on when delivering the regatta. We are committed to delivering a first-class event for junior rowers and their coaches and support from partners such as Hudson is essential to support the operational costs.”

Hudson said “We are very pleased to continue our support of National Schools’ Regatta. It's really rewarding to be part of a first-class event that sparks so much excitement for youth in our sport. We look forward to meeting athletes, coaches, and enthusiasts while bringing our support to the banks of the regatta!”
